Abstract:
Collage making is a well-known idea applied in ESL learning for years. It could be easily applied in various language levels as a tool to present yourself, your hobbies and number of various topics. Nowadays, students may create digital collages using different platforms such Padlet, Canvas and many more. Moreover, collage making could help to memorise vocabulary, summarize information, and demonstrate your creativity. As soft skills are essential for 21st century student, the aim of this paper is to apply the collage making practise in various university lectures to engage students into a learning process and to improve their team-working, public speaking and many more skills. The tool has been used in the modules of Academic and Technical Communication in English (level C1) and Introduction to Linguistics.

The objectives are as follows:
1. to introduce students to collage making,
2. to share their collages and discuss it during the lectures,
3. to analyze figures of speech chosen to present the collages.

The students of AI, Software Systems and New Media language have demonstrated their team-working, problem-solving, and public speaking skills. Metaphor, paradox, irony have been noticed in their presentations.
