Abstract:
Background/purpose:
Creating new models of instruction in the field of integrative education requires a thoughtful and systematic approach that combines various aspects of teaching and learning to foster holistic development of personality. The aim of the paper is to specify the psychological characteristics of acquiring knowledge in the conditions of the integrative process to make it as effective as possible.

Materials/methods:
To conduct research, gather data, analyze information, and draw conclusions quantitative and qualitative research methods together with observational research and content analysis were applied. The research was conducted with 250 university students. The reliability of obtained data was confirmed by statistical analysis.

Results:
As a result of the research, the stages and factors that contribute to active mental activity in the process of interdisciplinary integration of various educational subjects (Foreign language/Fundamentals of Ecology) were investigated and characterized in detail. The psychological aspects of familiarization, consciousness, integrated assimilation and application in the process of integrative training in the field of professional foreign language communication together with ecological content were determined.

Conclusion:
The conducted research allowed highlighting psychological features of integrative process of future ecologists training in professionally oriented foreign language environment. The main findings of the research should help in training course - with teaching materials preparation as well as in compilation of study guide, better knowledge acquisition and mastering the subject.
