Abstract:
Bilingual learning for the deaf do not sustain itself only with the translation-interpretation process, insofar as it implies two different form of languages: one of them is Libras (Brazilian sign language) and is solely visual, the other one is Portuguese. Thus, specific instructional materials are needed for deaf students, users of Sign Language as their first language. This work presents a structure and implementation proposal, grounded on instructional design theories, to the learning objects laboratory on Palhoça bilingual campus from Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia de Santa Catarina, Brazil. It analyzes two productions of this laboratory: a bilingual interactive learning object about physical activity and a web based video player developed specifically to this kind of content. Those works demonstrate the laboratory's ability to construct, as well as research and evaluate methods and techniques to build bilingual learning objects for the deaf. Keywords:
