Abstract:
The article is based on the ZOE project, Zoonoses Online Education, (2016-1-RO01-KA203-024732), funded by Erasmus+. The project aims to create open digital educational resources in the field of veterinary medicine based on developing innovative guidelines on zoonotic diseases study and veterinary, medical, pedagogical, linguistic and raise awareness intervention related to identify, monitor and control malaria and dirofilariasis, useful for the academic, professional and general beneficiaries. The interdisciplinary pedagogical resource (Medical communication linguistic resources) has developed an Open online course on veterinary communication for students, lectures, professionals and institutions in different languages including French.

This open online course guide on main infectious diseases transmitted from non-human animals to humans provides videos created from a linguistic, cultural and communication point of view. It represents an important tool especially for the veterinarian students. The course can improve both field specific knowledge as well as their linguistic competence in French.

I support the need for French language instruction as part of a student’s academic training (professional contacts, research activities) or a professional environment (internship). The specific aims of the Open online course on veterinary communication are: to increase the participation of the veterinarian students in research activities in French; to encourage the production and the dissemination of knowledge; to strengthen popularity of the French courses, in line with the latest research on teaching French for Specific Purposes in an interdisciplinary context; to facilitate networking for students, researchers and teachers, leading to the harmonization of teaching methods and contents by sharing common tools and reference materials.
