Abstract:
The purpose of this project is to restructure the curriculum of the Master’s program in Information Technology (IT) Governance at the Francisco de Paula Santander Ocaña University. The methodology employed is a quantitative approach with a descriptive scope, based on a technology watch exercise and an analysis of professional profiles, with the aim of restructuring the learning outcomes of the graduate program. As a result of the technology watch process, the most significant models associated with the master’s program were drawn from international references such as ABET: Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, ACM: Association for Computing Machinery, ARCU SUR: Regional Accreditation System for Higher Education in Mercosur and Associated States, ISACA: Information Systems Audit and Control Association, IAITG: Institute of Audit & IT-Governance, TUNING: Tuning Educational Structures, and ASIBEI: Ibero-American Association of Engineering Education Institutions, among others. An assessment of the graduation profile was conducted, and the professional profile was updated by creating new competencies derived from the combination of competencies from each reference point that shared similarities, using the revised Bloom’s Taxonomy as a foundation and reformulating the occupational profile. The levels of learning are defined by categories: Apply, Analyze, Evaluate, and Create.

Next, the learning outcomes for each competency included in the updated graduation profile are developed in relation to each course. It is concluded that the Master’s in IT Governance features a curriculum restructuring based on current standards and best practices, with a systematic process of updating the program’s and each course’s learning outcomes and profiles, establishing a two-year evaluation plan and conducting semiannual audits for monitoring. An evaluation plan for learning outcomes was implemented during the period from II-2022 to I-2024; the compliance and evaluation rate for this plan was 100%. Of these, 75% of the courses in the flexible component were evaluated and approved, 100% of those in the research component, and 50% of the courses in the professional component. The adjustments resulting from the evaluation are currently under review by the curriculum committee.
