Abstract:
The new guidelines encouraged from all institutions conforming the school community have reversed the educational procedures of which is known as the paradigm of traditional education. This paper aims to confirm this change, and make explicit the new direction education has taken towards achieving meaningful learning through functional and procedural analysis of the methodological technique known as PBL or “Problem-Based Learning ".

This tool offers students the opportunity to learn independently, because despite the fact that teachers establish learning objectives (as it cannot be otherwise), the problem-solving process generates the need for students to start managing not only their own learning but also the mechanisms (skills) to create such learning.

The generation of knowledge acquisition skills of is not something unique to PBL. There is, however, one aspect that makes it different from the rest, creativity.
The fact that students must solve problems in different ways creating their own resolution paths makes the richness and versatility of the final products extremely attractive.

This methodology shows great originality to attract students’ interest, with learning or, more precisely, learning to learn, the primary goal.
This methodology shows great originality to capture students’interest, with learning as primary goal, or better, learning to learn.
