Abstract:
Life and health protection courses are a compulsory subject at secondary schools in Slovakia, within which students acquire knowledge from the subject of survival in nature, rescue and first aid. Until the COVID-19 pandemic, the courses were implemented through a combination of theoretical and practical teaching in nature. It is not known how they were realized during the COVID-19 pandemic. The article contains the results of a questionnaire survey among almost one hundred university students, from different grades, focusing on the way in which life and health protection courses were implemented at the secondary school they attended. The aim of the questionnaire survey, in addition to identifying the method of course implementation, will be to identify the main benefits of individual forms of course implementation for the subsequent creation of a proposal for a new form of course. The new form of life and health courses should reflect the rise of modern technology and the impact of pandemic situations as well as other safety risks on high school students.
