Abstract:
Poly-Universe is a game that includes different geometric shapes of various colors and dimensions. Initially used in the scope of mathematical education, these materials have been explored for use in different contexts and disciplinary areas, aiming to promote interdisciplinarity, creativity, problem-solving, inclusion, and well-being. Based on the analysis of Heider and Simmel's experiments on attribution processes (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8FIEZXMUM2I), the goal is to explore the Poly-Universe material for the creation of games and verbal and visual narratives, involving the production of short stop-motion videos about attribution processes in social relationships and the promotion of non-discrimination. In the context of promoting non-discrimination, understanding the process of causal attributions can be crucial. By raising awareness about these cognitive biases, we can encourage individuals to be more mindful of their judgments and treat others with fairness and respect, regardless of their superficial differences. This awareness can foster a more inclusive and accepting society. Activities developed using the Poly-Universe materials will be presented, expecting participants to experience the materials and propose their own activities.
