Abstract:
This paper aims to characterize ProMeToM Erasmus+ project - Promoting Metacognition and Theory of Mind - namely its aims, activities and resources. The basic aim of the project is to raise educators and students' awareness of the value of metacognitive abilities and further develop and promote students' metacognitive abilities at elementary and high school educational levels through the corresponding training of teachers. In this scope a conceptual framework has been developed including the multidimensionality of the metacognition concept that can include monitoring and thinking strategic dimensions in the cognitive domain but also in the social or epistemic domain. In this framework a teacher training program was designed and implemented following an action research approach. In this paper the training program is described, as well as activities and resources developed and preliminary results of teachers perceptions of metacognition awareness and theory of mind practices evolution along the training.
