Abstract:
The rapid development of artificial intelligence technologies holds the potential to revolutionize education, offering a range of anticipated benefits. These advantages encompass immediate and personalized feedback for students, the facilitation of collaborative learning, assistance with course planning and content delivery, as well as student evaluation. Following a brief introduction to the concept of ChatGPT, this paper aims to illustrate how this novel technology can be effectively applied in the field of teaching and learning foreign languages. The presentation will provide specific examples of prompts that can be used at the lesson planning stage, the development of classroom activities, and learner assessment.

The paper will also explore how learners can use ChatGPT to independently enhance their vocabulary, grasp complex grammatical structures, and refine their writing proficiency. Through concrete examples, the presentation will highlight the versatility of ChatGPT as a virtual tutor, providing tailored guidance and support in the process of foreign language acquisition.

Finally, the paper will also discuss limitations and ethical considerations in using ChatGPT in education. By addressing concerns related to bias, privacy, and the potential for over-reliance on AI, the paper aims to foster a balanced and informed discourse on the ethical dimensions of integrating AI into the educational sphere.
