Abstract:
Introduction:
From a theoretical perspective, as well as from a pragmatic point of view, in the technologies of modern academic management, much attention is paid to leadership as a mechanism for dealing with the conflict of interest in the university information environment.
The report presents the results of a research study on leadership issues in a university information environment.
Goal and objectives:
The aim of the scientific research is through a realized PEST – analysis to demonstrate how the formation of leadership skills, attitudes and practices, they can be used as a mechanism for prevention and coping with conflicts of interest in the university information environment. The concept of ''leadership'' and the different types of leadership are fragmentally discussed. The interrelation between good academic management and prevention of possible conflict of interest in the university information environment has been synthesized.
Methodology:
The methodology applied for the realisation of the study includes PEST analysis, instruments for observation, search, systematisation, summary and analysis of traditional as well as electronic information sources.
Expected results:
As a result of the study we claim that the conflict of interests depends not only on the introduction of effective administrative and regulatory measures, but mainly by the management (leadership), the prevention and the tools that help improve the consideration of ethical issues in the organization and the preparation for their solution. Therefore, the major task of effective tools of ethical management is not so much in punishing the unethical actions and the respective offenders, but in preventing them and encouraging ethical behavior. It has been proven that sanctions themselves are not sufficient – tools for fostering ethical behavior are of great significance.
Conclusion:
In conclusion, on the basis of the results received from the scientific research, it has been summarized effective management of the university information environment based on the formation and development of leadership skills, attitudes and practices can prevent both a possible conflict of interests as well as its future extrapolation. Keywords:
