Abstract:
In this paper, we will focus on defining speech therapy prevention in preschool children, but we will also mention the partakers involved in this process. At the heart of interest is the parent, who is the first partaker, and essentially affects speech development of a child of preschool age either consciously or unconsciously. We are interested in what knowledge and information the parent has about the process of primary speech prevention, which is implemented continuously at home environment or nursery school.

Data for the empirical part of this text were obtained on the basis of quantitative methodology. A questionnaire was created for parents of children attending nursery school. The questionnaire contained 19 items. Research data were evaluated in the statistical program SPSS, and then interpreted.

The research results show that the whole process of speech prevention is influenced by many factors. The role plays both the age and education of parents, kindergarten and its program of primary speech therapy prevention and its communication with parents.
