Abstract:

This study examines the impact of interactive group projects carried out during class sessions on the development of creativity, critical thinking, and collaborative skills among university art students. Drawing on detailed classroom observations, student interviews, and a thorough analysis of portfolios, the research demonstrates that carefully designed group activities not only enhance individual artistic expression but also foster meaningful peer-to-peer learning. Students participating in collaborative projects show higher levels of engagement, a greater willingness to experiment with new techniques, and improved problem-solving abilities. In addition, these experiences cultivate essential soft skills such as communication, empathy, and teamwork, which are increasingly valued in contemporary artistic practice. The findings underscore the pedagogical importance of integrating collaborative, project-based approaches into higher art education curricula, suggesting that such methods can create more dynamic, interactive, and supportive learning environments that nurture both personal and collective artistic growth.
