Abstract:
In a vast and demanding field as it is foreign language education, there is a current necessity of learning to integrate new tools such as mobile technologies to support students with references of some of the elements of English language learning such as pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar structures of the target language. Thus, integration of this type of tools in the curricula can strengthen motivation and a positive attitude towards the teaching and learning process that will be reflected in the improvement of students’ foreign language skills. This study aims at looking for ways to approach teachers to pedagogical innovations based on augmented reality (AR), so that the teaching and learning process becomes more flexible and meaningful. Determining criteria for students’ and English teachers’ needs and conducting a systematic extraction and analysis of available literature will provide updated practical samples that teachers could apply to introduce AR in their teaching practice. This research provides insights from previous studies carried out in schools where AR has been adopted for language teaching to meet the needs found.
