Abstract:
The objective of the research was to determine the success factors of pedagogical management in the teaching of the English language in two language centers in Mexico and Colombia. The main previous literature of the study considered the contributions of Resabala (2014), López (2010), McKinsey and Company (2007) and Camarillo (2006). The globalization is bringing great changes and these changes bring with them a series of demands. Among these requirements, is the learning of the English language, which has become an essential element for the development of people and countries because this language has become the international and business language. People who have knowledge of the English language have more opportunities both in the labor field and in the educational field, which brings with it a great development for the countries that promote the learning of this language. Therefore, the teaching of the English language must be appropriate and of quality, so it is very important that the pedagogical management works correctly because it is in this part of the management where the teaching-learning process is developed, so it is indispensable that the managers of the language centers follow up on this process to make sure that the teachers are fully complying with the curricula in order to achieve the learning objectives that they have for the students. In this sense, this research was carried out in order to provide information about the success factors that influence the pedagogical management carried out by the directors, which in turn influences the teaching of the English language in two language centers that belong to two higher education institutions in Mexico and Colombia. The type of study that was used was a quantitative methodology with a transversal design with exploratory-descriptive and comparative scope. The instrument that was designed to obtain the information was a questionnaire based on a Likert scale, which items were measured through a scale with five response options from 0 (zero) to 4 (four); where 0 is "not done or unknown by teachers", 1 is "insufficient", 2 is "regular", 3 is "good" and 4 is "excellent". Once the field work was completed, the information collected was organized using the SPSS program as a support tool in order to obtain descriptive statistics that would allow the analysis of the data and thus be able to interpret the results obtained. The study sample consisted of 30 teachers from the Universidad Tecnológica de Pereira and 25 teachers from the Instituto Politécnico Nacional, who answered the questionnaire taking into account the actions taken within the pedagogical management by the director of the language center. Among the main results, it was found that the success factors of the pedagogical management are the constant training of teachers and the use of teaching strategies according to the context, since in both language centers the managers provide constant training in current topics of the teaching of languages, and in the same way, they allow teachers freedom when selecting their teaching methodology so that it is contextualized according to the student population they have at the moment. The relevant conclusion of the study was to find the main success factors of English language teaching that allow university students the possibility of learning English for their professional, personal and work life.
