Abstract:

Most of the politicians, economists, sociologists, forecasters and experts in other fields of science agree that the future of nations, states or humanity depends on the quality of education. Quality education is a crucial source of future development, prosperity and competitiveness of the Slovak Republic. Based on current knowledge, there are several ways to achieve a high level of education quality in the Slovak Republic. The aim of the paper is based on the analysis of the current state of education in the Slovak Republic to identify the necessary measures to improve the quality of education with a focus on the education of future officers of the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic. Using the method of analysis, comparison and deduction, the first part of the paper is focused on the analysis of the current state of education in the Slovak Republic with a focus on higher education. The second part of the paper presents proposals for the implementation of the necessary measures by which the process of education of future officers of the Slovak Armed Forces could reach a high, international level, which will enable them to acquire core and professional competencies to perform complex tasks in domestic and international environments.
