Abstract:
Online content creation is ever-growing and presents an opportunity to share content with people around the globe without the need for a physical location or scheduling. This is especially interesting in learning contexts in a globalized society since it constitutes an opportunity for people in different time zones and with different schedules to share their knowledge.

Taking the example of biosignals analysis, there are a wide multitude of resources to choose from and it might be difficult for non-specialists to understand what they need to know for each specific application. biosignalsnotebooks project emerged with the purpose of easing this process by making available the applied knowledge of specialists regarding various types of matters, such as, data collection, signal processing, analysis and machine learning, among others. Furthermore, it is a project that incentives the participation of users to share their own knowledge to benefit the community using biosignals.

For this, we used Project Jupyter, specifically Jupyter Notebooks, which provide the means to develop an open-source and open-access way to create interactive computing and interactive content. With this, we create our own content but enable users to contribute and increase experience by sharing in a standardized and easily readable manner. Moreover, they allow to combine content presentation, programing and to make hands-on experiences in a single platform, easing the interaction between the users and the content, as was positively surveyed in a multitude of workshops presenting the biosignalsnotebooks project.

In the future, this project aims at assessing the real impact of the provided materials and the way they are presented to the users (a combination between content presentation/programming/hands-on experience) and assess the real benefits that it offers to the community. Additionally, the application data collection tools would allow to get insight knowledge of the interaction between each user and each material, leading to improvements directed to different types of users. On the other hand, we aim at building new lessons in a modular way, that is, each lesson will be composed of various notebooks, and each of those notebooks will be composed of specific concepts. This way, every notebook will be reusable and the assembling of new lessons will be facilitated.
