Abstract:
Higher education is increasingly focused on the objectives that have been defined for 2030, by several organizations and that converge studies from UNESCO and the OECD in the redefinition of the students' learning path. Thus, recent guidelines such as those derived from the OECD Learning Compass 2030, define curriculum as a set of knowledge, skills, attitudes and values that are necessary for students and future professionals to contribute decisively to the well-being of their communities. Another question that arises is that many students become professionals in areas that are not linked to the knowledge and skills they have acquired at university. Students must be able to use Design thinking logic in the process of individualization of the learning path and didactic content given the current needs of the labour market. Following this starting point, the Adaptation and Evaluation D.Y.L. Methodology to Individualized Career Planning in Higher Education Institutions project was created, funded by Poland's NAWA Program, in conjunction with Wyższa Szkoła Informatyki i Zarządzania w Rzeszowie (Poland), University of Bologna (Italy), Université de Nice - Sophia Antipolis (France) and the Polytechnic Institute of Portalegre. The original element of this project is the use of Design Thinking logic in the process of individualizing the learning trajectory and didactic content, because of the current needs of the labour market. Besides, it is planned to adapt the Designing your life and Business Model You methods and to develop an original methodology that is consistent with the properly selected processes, methods and techniques. The project focuses on four main areas: Developing Student Purposeful Development Toolbox, Adaptation of BMY and DYL approaches to the needs of individualization and creation of learning paths and career planning, Development of a reference model in the field of individualization based on good practices and Dissemination of project results in the scientific environment. The contribution of the Polytechnic Institute of Portalegre is focused on combining the project with Social Responsibility, an area that is increasingly incorporated in Higher Education and modifying the process of training future professionals, as the alliance between knowledge, skills and attitudes reflects social responsibility that students will bring to their jobs and their communities. Thus, it is intended to train students, teachers and career officers with a set of instruments and attitudes that make them more active in the sphere of social responsibility. To this end, eight tools (Change of perspective, Cognitive Reconstruction, Identify your values, Set Goals, Personal SWOT Matrix, Soft Systems Methodology, Decision Tree and Rich Pictures) were chosen to work with the three target group of users (students, teachers and career officers) defining the benefits for each group of users. With this project focused on social responsibility, it is intended to train students, teachers and career officers with instruments and skills that combine training in higher education with the values of social responsibility, building a profile of the future professional that include principles of social responsibility that will be applied in life, in the workplace and the community.
