Abstract:
The paper studies the possibilities of interconnecting the subject of chemistry and mathematics at the second level of elementary schools. Interdisciplinary relations are one of the main aspects to understand the usefulness and applicability of school mathematics. It is necessary to ensure that the contents of the materials are chosen naturally and appropriately, without artificial interconnections.
The project Nature brings several sample worksheets of the research days that the article introduces. An important aspect of the outputs is their individualization with respect to the needs of the pupil, i.e. their applicability in heterogeneous groups of pupils in the class. Based on pilot studies, critical assessment of educators, psychologists, special educators, and inter-subject relations experts, worksheets have been produced that are differentiated for three main groups of pupils - talented, intact, and pupils with special educational needs.
At the moment, all the materials are subjected to EyeTracking-based technology research. Eye tracking is an advanced technology for tracking eye movements, which can be used in research in many ways. The principle of this technology is to monitor human eye motion in places where the eye is looking at at the exact moment, focusing on the distance or time at which the object is being monitored. The main aim of the research is to find out whether the strategies of reading the given assignments, working with the assignments differ among the respondent groups – talented students, intact students, and pupils with special educational needs and whether the layout influences the correctness of their solution. The result should show us how to create interdisciplinary assignments so that there are efficient enough for all types of students. The results together with the statistical processing will be part of the follow-up article. Keywords:
