Abstract:
In this paper we will study the different methodologies in which we are currently moving in the teaching of drawing assisted by computer, in BIM technology, compiled the teaching experiences developed at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Edificación of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), applied to several different Teaching Units.
We must introduce our students in subjects such as drawing assisted by computer with BIM tools; we must prepare them for the needs of the society and the development of their professional practice.
Working with BIM tools marks a new era for professionals in Architecture, who will not only save time creating and modifying their projects but also facilitate interaction at the highest level with their collaborators, by sharing specific content to each specialty in the same BIM model. We are going to study how BIM technology is going to be used in architectural projects.
For us, it was important to analyse the studies in the University where these projects are being carried out in this field, in order to obtain some future lines of action to face the challenges of the students integration in the professional area. The University should be able to train graduates who are capable of developing the BIM (Building Information Modelling) tools according to the demand of the professional sector.
