OPPORTUNITIES TO SUPPORT ORIENTATION OF PUPIL´S FOR TECHNICAL FIELDS OF STUDY

The theoretical background of the presented study is the result of several researches focusing on the most important factors influencing the choice of study direction of elementary school pupils. The influence of the school environment is also discussed in this group of factors. The main objective of this study is therefore to point out the possibilities of support for pupil’s orientation towards technical fields of study in the school environment, because of the fact that in this area, in recent years, there has been a significant drop in the interest of both pupils and their parents. Possibilities of pupils orientation support, we propose have been designed as a prerequisite for improving the motivation and attitudes of pupils in relation to technology and technical education. In the contribution, we point to several major projects and school competitions, which main aim is to increase the aforementioned motivation of pupils to technical education.These include the national project Dielne and the Technical Olympiad of primary school pupils.
