Abstract:
This paper describes the educational innovation that has been applied in the elaboration of the final project of the Differential Equations course for engineering students at the Tecnológico Nacional de México campus Veracruz.

The strategy "Submarine prototype design" seeks that the student achieves the three stages of learning (cognitive, psychomotor and emotional). After the theoretical sessions (cognitive stage), students integrated in teams, design and build a submarine with the objective of analyzing the behavior of the submarine when submerged and emerging to the surface within a scale model, applying the knowledge acquired during the course related to certain theorems such as Archimedes, Bernoulli, Torricelli and others, in order to determine the sinking of the submarine in a given time t.

In the construction of the prototype should be used everyday and recycled elements preferably, for the control part is suggested the use of an Arduino. In the project report, the mathematical approach of the submersion and emersion process of the submarine should be developed. In the evaluation of the project, in addition to its completion and operation, the transversal and specific competences of the subject will be evaluated.
