Abstract:
In the last decade, information and communication technologies have made it possible to energize learning environments at different levels of education. However, in the Technical University of Machala, Ecuador, it has been detected that the professionals who graduated from the Basic Education Career have shortcomings related to the incorporation of technologies in the teaching-learning process. For this reason, this paper presents the results of research aimed at strengthening teaching skills through the incorporation of technology in Basic Education learning environments. A mixed research approach was used that enabled the collection and analysis of data obtained through the application of theoretical and empirical level methods. In order to analyze the extent to which a digital teacher training course favors skills in the incorporation of technology in the classroom, a LIKERT scale questionnaire, interviews, and field notes were applied. The population consisted of 40 Basic Education teachers who participated in classroom sessions. The interpretation of the data obtained at the end of the training showed that the participants demonstrated empowerment in the use of technology, recognized the importance of ongoing training to develop these skills and incorporate emerging educational technologies in the teaching-learning process, and offered them security to be able to incorporate technology in their didactic plans and use them properly in their educational work.
