Abstract:
Among the relevant characteristics of high ability (or gifted) students, generally, are the student’s interests. Mostly, some great capabilities can be wasted in education if the student does not find a personal interest in what he/she is doing, especially in those students. Based on that, our objective is to include the high ability students in the creation of their own learning material awakening the motivation in their education, thought a co-creation process. To reach this goal, a research is being carried out about the high ability students’ characteristics, pedagogical models, creation and co-creation models. This paper focused in a special aspect we did not find in literature: the point of view of the high ability students and their parents about how they learn and study, in order to understand and identify what they like or not about their educational process, and what they need about a learning material. Therefore, this paper describes the surveys designed to characterize this learning/study process, their application in a group of high ability students and their parents, and the main results, which helped to guide the research in progress.
