Abstract:
Educational programs require students to study mathematical statistics, and we try to find new approaches to engage students. Didactical games always gained attention as a technique to motivate students and improve learning.

The purpose of this article was to describe the experiences with a case-based learning platform.

Educational content such as cases, movies, activities was organized into different quests for use in the computer game. We understand by investigation the results of teaching experiments (Analysis of variance (ANOVA)) that student’s activity improve the logical and mathematical reasoning of mathematical statistics, developing a critical thinking.

We concluded that the development of learning games had revealed itself as a perspective approach to start new ways in the production of mathematical knowledge upon the application of practical examples and mathematical reasoning.

Serious games can improve understanding of the application of mathematical statistics by giving opportunities to obtain research experiences.

This approach can be applied in educational process to promote awareness about significance of mathematical statistics in creating decisions.
