Abstract:
Business education has the capacity to empower the youth with the skills, attitudes and competencies which are necessary to engage them as workers and useful citizens of any nation. M-learning technologies where applied to the learning of business education subjects will facilitate and enhance the acquisitions of those skills. This study explored the rational for understanding the use of m-learning technologies so as to maximize learning of business education subjects in Nigerian universities. The researcher constructed 30 questionnaire items from research relevant to the study. The questionnaire was validated using Crombach Alpha which yielded a reliability coefficient of 0.76. A total of 437 questionnaire items were administered on business educators and students of business education from 10 universities offering business education in Nigeria. 365 of the questionnaires were completed and retrieved. The Research Question, “how can m-learning technologies be used to maximize the learning of business education subjects in Nigerian universities?” was answered using mean rating and standard deviation. The hypothesis of no significant difference in the mean responses of business educators and business education students from Nigeria universities regarding the m-learning technologies which could be used to maximize learning of business education subjects was tested using student T-test. The study revealed that all the constructs except 13 could be used in learning business education subjects in Nigerian universities. It was recommended, among others, that business educators and students of business education in Nigeria universities should embrace m-learning technologies in their studies in order to acquire skills, attitudes and competencies relevant to today’s world of work.
