Abstract:
The present paper evaluates the issue of applying the case study to communicative competence evolvement of the class speaking activities corresponding to B2 level students of Ecology Faculty of the RUDN University. The target of the research is to highlight the role of the case study as a method that not only elaborates the ability to make discussion but also helps to improve reading skills in a foreign language. The paper focuses on the necessity of using web-recourses to provide students with the English texts for specific purpose. Of particular interest is creating a useful language bank for professional field communication. This study reveals practical and investigative aspects of the case sample that is devoted to environmental points and is arranged taking into consideration the language proficiency and vocational training of the students. The capability to work in groups on a single problem field, using of brief information that reduces the degree of uncertainty in terms of a time limit, drawing up the principles of problem-based learning, the ability to create new business models, the students' possibility of knowledge acquiring as well as a deep understanding of theoretical concepts experiencing the simplest consolidation of information are analyzed.
