Abstract:
The contribution topic is based on the idea of the Next generation classroom (NGC). Next generation classrooms idea fundamentally changes the present concept of teaching. This idea is based on the need of sharing and collaborating in new, innovative ways especially. Pupils have chance and space to develop cooperative and creative thinking in an adequate classroom environment. In there, pupils are given the chance to experiment and discover, resulting in the feelings of success and joy. Implementing constructivist approaches is not trivial, as this requires conditions which encourage and support pupils’ activity. Transformation of education is connected with use of new digital technologies (DT) especially.
The contribution deals with preliminary results of Attitudes towards Computer Assistant Teaching (abbr. as ”ATCAT”) research into the issue of educational implementation of ICT tools into the primary mathematics school context. We concentrate on the primary school teacher personality. We would like to determine whether teachers are prepared for the changes associated with the implementation of NGC idea with focus to new digital technology implementation. The contribution presents a set of barriers that prevent the successful digital technology implementation. It is very positive that Educational Needs of Mathematics (ENMT) research results show that teachers are aware of their shortcomings. They would like to add the necessary DT competences within the Life Long Learning courses. Keywords:
