Abstract:
Education in a broad spectrum is involved with people. These people could be referred to as the public. The place of public relation which Kotler defines as the establishment and maintenance of goodwill with the public is fast becoming a primary index towards assessing institutional health. This research employs the survey research approach using selected higher institutions of 6 sample schools to study the role of public relation to the development of the education curricular. The study identifies the lack or near absence of goodwill between operators of the educational system and the learners or students on one side and the financiers either as government or parents on the other side as the bane of educational development in the African continen, using oral interview and questionnaire as instrument of research methodology. Data analysed was of the finding that most crisis and conflict in the educational system were born out of public relation disfunction on the part of stakeholders in the system. It therefore concludes that public relations is a sine qua non towards educational development and recommends its inclusion in the education curriculum and application by operators towards educational developmentKeywords:
