Abstract:
The aim of the present study was to verify differences in self-rated competency of students based on various factors – the level of study, experience and self-rated personality. The research data were obtained from self-report questionnaires distributed to teacher candidates. The questionnaire consisted of four parts – personal information, personality self-assessment, experience with family assessment process and competency for family assessment process. The content of the scales consisted of self-assessment of knowledge, skills and personality traits for family assessment process. The competency was significantly higher in students with more experience related to real interactions with parents and family assessment process, older students, and finally in students who rated themselves as extroverts. Methodological issues are discussed and some suggestions for future research and preservice training are presented. This study complements the solutions of the research project KEGA No. 007UKF4/2020 “The topic of a family in a system of pre-service teacher preparation.” Keywords:
Teacher training, future teachers, competencies of teachers, family assessment, self-report, experience.
