Abstract:
Recently, the dual system of education in the Slovak Republic has proved to be an exceptional model of preparing the students for future occupations. It means a partnership of students, schools, and companies. Each of the training needs to be adapted to age, students and their mental abilities. Introductory trainings in occupational safety in dual education are fully in the competence of the employer. The knowledge gained during the training was verified by an attitude questionnaire of students, in which 90 respondents preparing for occupations in the automobile industry, were involved. The analysis of the questionnaires revealed that the students consider the level of training in the field of safety and health at work to be sufficient and they are satisfied with the level of acquired knowledge. Paradoxically, however, the facts, that they fail to answer questions about the hazards and risks in the workplace to which they will be exposed in current and future work, have been identified. This is the main topic of the whole training process in terms of early identification of hazards and appropriate prevention. A fundamental recommendation measure is the quality incorporation of these topics into training with the use of activating methods into the process, methodological and professional training, and support of employer´s trainers with the implementation of new methods and forms of training of student for safe behaviour.
