Abstract:
The education in safety and health at work is a lifelong learning process. It forms an important part of everyday life, especially in training for the occupation. This area is important in the practical teaching of technical subjects, meaning higher risk activities. In the education system at the second stage of primary schools in the Slovak Republic, occupational safety is a cross-cutting theme. To teach students in recognizing hazards and assessing risks is an integral part of any activity. However, the subjects of risk management are not part of the education of future teachers at any of the existing pedagogical faculties of the Slovak Republic. Teachers acquire basic knowledge only through compulsory training, which is usually focused on the interpretation of legislation. The aim of the article was to show on the example of real pedagogical practice how to identify the most significant risks by standardized methods and systematically integrate them into the teaching of technical subjects in the form of preventive measures. The article describes the implementation of two selected methods of risk analysis of machinery in a technical workshop, an extended point method and the BOMECH method. The results are compared in order to evaluate their implementation. The conclusions of the analyses are systematically incorporated into the training of students in the operation of machinery, including the selection and use of effective personal protective equipment, in order to achieve the most effective prevention at work.
