Abstract:
Young people have significantly more accidents at work than their older colleagues, and their injury rate is particularly high in the first few weeks of starting work. Therefore the role of family and schools is to gradually create and develop the positive attitude of young people to work, together with respect for safety in the education. The educational system resolves the challenge that relates with the preparation of young people for practical life and how to provide them professional expertise. One of the options, how to apply this area into school education is in the Slovak Republic the integration of occupational health and safety as a cross-sectional theme in the different subjects. The article discusses about the results from a survey realized on the secondary schools. The main aim of this survey is to detect students elementary knowledge and attitudes toward the health and safety at work. Keywords:
