Abstract:
Among the major challenges the National Security University training is faced with are the fast-pace changing security environment and the need to promptly and symmetrically reflect these changes. The need for highly-qualified specialists, whose efficiency is determined not only by the state of the economy and the current national security system but also the perspectives for their well-being, has become increasingly immediate The desired result from learning the ‘security’ system in different BA and MA programs in Bulgarian higher institutions, as well as The University of Library Studies and Information Technologies (ULSIT) in particular has been to acquire knowledge, develop skills and gain expertise of national security. A leading factor determining the level of specialists in higher education has been the quality of the learning process.

The article discusses the quality of training as seen from the point of view of its improvement with the analysis of a few important aspects in mind:
- Peculiarities in the selection and training of students in the BA and MA programs in National Security;
- Selection of lecturers and tutors;
- Improving the existing quality control systems;
