Abstract:
Introduction:
This article presents a study which is related to the effect of information educational technologies on the learners’ motivation to learn in the various informatics disciplines.
The object of the study is the learning of the students pursuing a master’s degree in Informatics and Information Technologies in Education.
The subject of the study is the effect of Information Technologies (IT) and interactive educational multimedia on the learners’ motivation in the master’s degree course Informatics and Information Technologies in Education within the major Multimedia Systems and Technologies in Education.

The aim is:
To study the capabilities and effect of integrating information technologies and interactive educational multimedia in the education in various informatics disciplines, and in particular, their effect on the motivation for learning in the academic subject Multimedia Systems and Technologies – a course of study for the award of a master’s degree to students not majoring in an informatics discipline.

Organisation of the research:
The present research is an attempt to prove the abilities of educational multimedia for increasing the motivation to learn of master’s degree students majoring in Informatics and Information Technologies in Education. It is also an attempt to demonstrate that it is desirable, or rather obligatory, together with the traditional educational technologies to be used interactive multimedia in order to ensure higher achievement rate in the learning process.

The research results are expected:
• To provide methodological guidance for the lecturers in various information disciplines on the use of educational multimedia in the educational context.
• To facilitate the identification of the deficiencies in the current education and to demonstrate how the new technologies help to reduce and overcome those deficiencies.
• To help gain recognition of the understanding that interactive multimedia facilitates the improvement of the motivation to learn.
• To improve the learners’ skills for working with computers and IT, thereby making them more confident and purposeful learners and thus to prepare them for their future personal and professional realisation.

Conclusion:
In the present paper by means of implementing a case study with embedded analysis elements it has been substantiated one of the possible options for using and integrating multimedia educational technologies as an effective method for increasing the motivation to learn in the discipline Multimedia Systems and Technologies in Education.

The case study, implemented by means of developing a didactic multimedia programme product which was tested in teaching practice and is aimed at improving the motivation to learn of students who are not doing in an IT major, supports the main aim of the research.

In conclusion, we can assume that interactive multimedia is a suitable learning environment which helps the learners to broaden their knowledge and to develop various skills. In this domain there is a pressing need for further research. Computers posses a certain capacity which make them a powerful educational tool, however their pedagogical efficiency is manifested in the ways of integrating them in the actual learning process.
