Abstract:
The use of new learning methodologies is providing new perspectives on cognitive development and learning. Its use in matters related to quality and statistical process control acquire a new work approach, thus overcoming the problem of the inexperience of students in industrial knowledge. The problem-solving technique based on 8D (8 disciplines) is a clear example. Traditional learning fails to develop deep and lasting learning in the student.
The challenge-based teaching methodology represents an evolution of the experiential activities carried out in the past by this teaching team. This article presents a challenge-based learning activity in order for students to acquire the necessary development to implement a problem-solving process using the 8D technique, and how the associated transversal competencies are developed.
In this article, we present the performance of the activity, as well as the results experienced by the students during the execution and the conclusions drawn from it.Keywords:
Challenge-based learning (CBL), quality, problem, solving.
