Abstract:
The ongoing 4th industrial revolution has had a great impact on the socio-economic context. Many countries have changed their strategies, including education and training, focusing on digital transformation to meet requirements of the Industrial Revolution. Vietnam is not an exception, especially when the Covid-19 pandemic broke out, more than 15 million Vietnamese students could not go to school, therefore the online school solution became a must. Online schools take advantage of the internet environment, educational software with high shareability, operate regardless of geographical location and create opportunities for everyone to exchange, find information and learn easily, especially for those students living in remote, isolated areas, as well as for ethnic minority students. Online schools are widely applied in many parts of the world, including Vietnam. The article presents the current situation of development and operation of online schools in Vietnam with opportunities and challenges, as well as discusses solutions to develop this school model and how to improve the quality of online teaching in schools.
