Abstract:
The issue of dual education is currently under discussion in the environment of the Slovak Republic. In particular, Slovakia has a shortage of professional staff mainly in the field of engineering, manufacturing and industry. Companies need to have such graduates who are immediately ready to work and put their knowledge into practice. Dual education could bring such results because it allows the pupils to prepare exactly and specifically for a job or job position according to the needs and requirements of the employer. So far, only secondary schools have experience with dual education in Slovakia but in the school year 2017/2018, the Slovak Technical University as the only one comes with a pilot project of dual education at universities. College or university students also need practical experience for employment in the labour market and therefore modern dual education in Slovakia should not only concern secondary school students.
