Abstract:
The paper analyzes applications (apps) of augmented and virtual reality and describes the possibilities of their use in the educational process. The authors focus on mobile technologies, specifically smartphones and tablets. Based on the previous researches, the contribution focuses on devices with iOS. Special attention is on the influence of these apps on the development of pupil's communicative skills. In the first part of the paper, the authors define the theoretical background of the problem, especially the terms augmented reality and virtual reality. Subsequently, the authors follow various approaches to this issue and monitor the use of augmented and virtual reality applications in the context of foreign education systems. The second part of the article is devoted to specific mobile applications that the authors have chosen based on the research. The selected applications are analyzed in detail by the authors. In this paper, the authors present possible ways of using applications during the development of pupil's communicative skills. This paper can be applied as a basis for further investigation in the area of this problem. The main aim of this article is a detail research of mobile applications for work with augmented or virtual reality which can help to develop communicative competences of students.
