Abstract:
Web-based business information systems (BIS) and their optimization are becoming increasingly important for a number of present-day businesses and are widely used in more and more areas. They are an integral part of almost all professional fields such as communications, manufacturing, economics, finance, healthcare, pharmaceutics, education, services and last but not least e-commerce. Optimization often aims to increase productivity, to ensure the compliance of processes with user requirements and to achieve better results with fewer resources. The problem observed is the lack of a complex solution for improving the productivity of a web-based business information system. This problem could be solved by using a set of methods in such a way as to achieve the maximum possible productivity of the business information system.

This paper presents a mathematical model of the productivity of an isolated business information system. The model reflects the specifics of the system’s hardware and software components and could be used in terms of its optimization and improvement.
