Abstract:
In the context of a new Educational Reform in Chile, one of the issues gaining the most relevance is regarding Quality concerns: what it means in the educational context; how to move forward in its pursuit and how to secure it.

Based on the above, this article intends to contribute to the debate, from the review of international experiences in implementing ISO 9001 in educational organizations.

ISO 9001 is a continuously expanding Quality Assurance System, which is involved in an organization’s processes, contributing through in its order, cleanliness and standardization.

From the world of business and labor, this standard has crossed its original borders of origin, by its implementation in several types of organizations of various kinds, including those that focus their activities on teaching and learning processes.

Finally, the article proposes a discussion on the relevance of implementing ISO 9001 in vocational high schools in Chile.
