Abstract:
In the era of telecommunications, where there are no borders between countries, the necessity of acquiring a foreign language lead us to consider and meditate about the ease or difficulty to learn a foreign language, besides English language, as well as the strategies needed to enhance it.

The literature in this subject focuses on different aspects such as peculiarities of the brain or students’ own age.
This paper presents the opinions of foreign language teachers from the Language Centre of Universidad Veracruzana, Mexico, with over 20 years of experience in the classrooms. They describe the ease and difficulties they have observed in their students when learning a foreign language and the strategies used by themselves to enhance it.

Findings suggest intrinsic and extrinsic motivation as one of the main factors in the ease or difficulty to learn a foreign language. Another important factor considers students’ own learning styles.
