Abstract:
The global development tracks of a modern university are set by global trends and tendencies that are influenced by global social issues focusing on sustainable development goals. Responding to social and global challenges, the university is changing and transforming. A modern university is focused on successfully integrating into global development tracks. Here, some universities require a change in the management paradigm, while others require a change in the concept and technology of education. The aim of the article is to identify the global development tracks of a modern university, identify national and international projects that help the university fit into the development tracks, and indicate the necessary ways of their transformation.

The study of universities was carried out in accordance with the concept of university classification from the model University 1.0 to the University 4.0, in the context of the sustainable development goals (SDG, 4, 9, 11, 17). The university research was based on the following indicators of efficiency: recognition in the market for educational, scientific and innovative services, academic reputation and among employers.

As a result of the study, five global tracks of the development of a modern university were identified:
1) participation in large public programs and projects,
2) positioning the university in world rankings,
3) the transition to the model of University 3.0 or University 4.0,
4) the formation of consortia of universities, scientific institutions, social and commercial organizations,
5) the architecture of the university as an international innovative scientific and educational center (Hub) in the educational and public spheres.

The authors substantiated that the global development tracks of modern universities in the world are a controlled process, first of all, on the part of the state, where the target model of the strategic academic development of a particular university is being transformed. For this, national and international projects for the development of universities are launched. Integration into global tracks leads to a new paradigm and a new understanding of the university. A modern university is an international innovative scientific and educational center (Hub), which determines the prospects for the development of society as a whole and ensures the sustainable development of regions of its country. International innovative scientific and educational development of a modern university is possible due to global development tracks, networking, cooperation, collaboration with other educational, scientific institutions and organizations from the real sector. The creation of consortia and the successful implementation of their activities, the positive partnership of all consortium participants in the context of transformation gives the most effective results.
