Abstract:

The report examines the policies for storage of archives and documents in Bulgarian institutions. The topic of storage conditions (buildings and archives) in the preservation of literary wealth, and the policies that are applied in the institutions that preserve memory, is extremely affected.

It is important to note that the report does not address issues related to the protection of the information itself in documents and archives, as this is the subject of other developments.

The methodology applied in this report is an analysis of current information sources, and through the methods of analysis and synthesis of collected information, the best examples are provided in the implementation of policies for the preservation of archives and documents in Bulgarian cultural institutions.

The report also provides a comparative analysis of foreign experience - policies, approaches and methods in the field of preservation of documents and archives in cultural institutions.
