Abstract:

In 2020, the world suffered a huge cataclysm. The COVID-19 pandemic is the global premise, and the world is unprepared for it. This in turn raises the need for proper, orderly, systematic, and accessible information to meet the needs of society.

The report examines the dangers, threats and risks of physical storage of documents and archives. Documents at risk are those documents that are damaged due to external factors, those that are in serious physical condition, which are stored in conditions that endanger their integrity.
Also documents that are not stored properly, those that are the result of terrorist acts, theft, those that have suffered human negligence or even documents to cover up criminal acts.

The methodology used in this report is an analysis of current information through the method of practical monitoring and field work in several archival institutions, and based on the collected information, some of the best practices regarding hazards, threats and risks in the physical storage of documents and archives.
