Abstract:

The creation of digital arrays of documents is an important, but not the only aspect in the work of cultural institutions, related to improving access to the heritage of literary and documentary heritage.

More and more of these cultural institutions are realizing that no less important than the growth of digital resources is their inclusion in interoperable information retrieval systems. It is through the sharing of these digital resources that many opportunities for access to digital content are created - both regionally, nationally and internationally.

In addition, library management has long been aware of the fact that projects for cooperative creation and use of digital resources have been proven successful.
As we have pointed out for the second time, the joint participation in large-scale projects helps to increase the authority of all participating institutions, has a positive effect on the professional experience of the profession itself.

The purpose of this report is to present some of the best cooperative initiatives and projects in the Republic of Bulgaria, operating at both regional and national level, aimed at digitalization of cultural and historical heritage and its inclusion in global databases.

To achieve the objectives of the present study, a conditional-analytical approach, historical and functional analysis and content analysis were used.
