This report is the result of an experiment in the initial training of science teachers that aimed to seek the link between the activity of teaching and research in Scientific Education in carrying out activities that would promote the apprehension, preparation and communication of scientific knowledge to future teachers from four dimensions: Knowledge (theoretical knowledge related to the object of study in Scientific Education), Doing (doings of a researcher) and Being and Living (ethical attitudes and policies of a researcher). Beyond this, issues related to the function of oral and written communication in the production of scientific knowledge to the interlocution among a collective of researchers were discussed, encouraging and valuing the authors in the dialogue with other authors. Thus, selecting articles published in scientific journals and conferences, read, interpret, produce and communicate research in Science teaching has been the practice of undergraduate baccalaureate and licentiate students in Biological Sciences Major, in the discipline of Apprenticeship IV at Universidade Regional de Blumenau, SC, Brazil, since 2008. In this experiment it was verified that most of the students achieved the objective, this was possible to be noticed during the construction of each step of the experiment. The research basically consisted of the following steps: 1 - Recognition of events and databases for research in Scientific Education; 2nd-Reading, analyzing and preparation of research summaries; 3rd-Reading, analyzing and sharing of research papers; 4th - Definition of an object of study for research in Scientific Education; 5th - Elaboration and implementation of the research; 6th - Drafting of the article and; 7th - Seminar for sharing information. The results have shown that the proposal is feasible in the initial training of teachers, it has contributed with the students of Biological Sciences, who opted for the licentiate degree, to perceive another dimension of the educational practice, besides teaching, with the option to develop researches and enroll in post-graduation in Science Teaching. It also contributed to broaden the discussion of the conceptual contents, procedures and attitudes that are included in the National Curriculum Parameters (ParĂ¢metros Curriculares Nacionais), guiding the curricula of schools in Brazil. For students who have elected an alternative undergraduate area of work as Biologists, the experiment has cooperated to value this area of research, to participate in events related to Education submitting their papers, as well as inspiration for the Final Paper. Thus, it was verified that this experiment contributed with the future Science and Biology teacher to encourage them to continue, with autonomy, their training seeking in scientific research their updating, reflexion and possible transmission of their teaching practice.
