Abstract:
The article deals with the issue of involvement of stakeholders in the management of protected areas in Slovakia for example, the management of the National Park Muráň Plain. The aim of the paper is to analyze and evaluate the current state of NP management in all phases of life cycle and to propose specific measures for the purpose of its streamlining. During the research in the years 2012 - 2013 we identified stakeholders and key stakeholders through stakeholder circle. We evaluated the problem circuits and the possibility of stakeholder education in the context of education for sustainable development in management protected areas in Slovakia through the analyses of affinity. We propose specific measures for the purpose of its streamlining as to introduce the "FIT" model of education for sustainable development. Expected effects are the integration of assessed area management into and regional politics and development, protection and environmental education quality management improvement. Specific recommendations for practice can be use like model example stakeholder education in the context of education for sustainable development of management in protected areas in Europe.
