Abstract:
The paper deals with the issue of involvement of key stakeholders in the management of protected areas in Slovakia for example, the management of the Slovak Karst National Park. The aim of the paper is to analyze and evaluate the current state of protected area management relating to the issue and to propose specific measures for the purpose of its streamlining. During the research in the years 2010 - 2012 we devoted information gathering and through stakeholder circle we defined stakeholders and key stakeholders. We delimited the problem circuits of stakeholder education in the context of integrated management protected areas in Slovakia through the SWOT analyses. Expected effects of proposed measures is the integration of assessed area management into a regional politics and development, protection and environmental education quality management improvement, public awareness increase about the complex issues linked with the NP management, an effort to link assessed area management with tasks and tools of land planning and with the European standards, policies, practices and techniques support. Specific recommendations for practice in processing issue are reported in conclusion of the paper, which can be use like model example Stakeholder Education in the context of Integrated Management in Protected Areas in the Central Europe.
