Abstract:
With human evolution on Earth and increasing of population negative influences on the environment became more and more significant. During the last decades of the 20th century the mankind has recognized the need for the formation of new relationship between a man and nature, which ended with a paradigm of sustainable development.
After the UN conference (Earth Summit, 1992 Rio de Janeiro), the term „sustainable development“ has become the lead term in the politics of life surroundings. The basic principles of this concept include interconnecting the fields of ecology, economy and sociology. Only by mutual bonding and achieving the goals in each pointed segments can the true idea of sustainable development be realized. Social equivalence and sustainable economy provide business safety, funding and success. Ecological questions tend to be reduced to questions of nature resources management, integrity of ecosystem, assurance and preservation of biodiversity, support of bioproduction and stabile climate. Social justice includes assurance and support of culturological variety, support of social justice, humanization of work conditions and reduce of misery.
Basic characteristics of sustainable development are: sistematic approach to problem solving, environment protection as integral part of development process, reduced spending of nonrenewable resources, reduction of environment-harmful emissions, recycling and reuse of secondary raw materials and enabled access to informations about state and protection of environment. Resolution 57/254 issues that the base of tenndencies lies in education. That is exactly why the evolution of educational programs for students as well as lifetime education in the fields of ecodesign and ecological principles trough the life-cycle of product became necessary.
Graphic industry ic facing the more and more strict standards in the field of environmental protection. Traditional access to end of pipe waste disposal terefore became less attractive and found its place in the bottom of pyramid of hierarchy. In the top of the pyramid are cleaner technologies as the most important industrial strategy for environmental qualitiy improvements. Application of cleaner production increases the efficiency of the production process, keeps the competitiveness, while protecting the environment. With cleaner production one can avoid or reduce the amount of waste, use the energy and the resources efficiently and also produce environmental-friendly product.
In order to satisfy the needs for Europe as a knowledge society, students should be enabled to participate and be involved in scientific work based on research.
